As part of a new monthly program, Carlsbad united F.C. had their second ‘Coaches Education’ practical training session last night at Aviara Park. All the coaches seemed to thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to get together, share thoughts/ideas, and most importantly learn how to become a better coach.

CUFC Technical Director, Steve Cowell, commented, “It is great to get on the field each month with the coaches as part of our continual coach education program. One of the things we are trying to focus on as a club is long term player development, and we ask coaches to keep the big picture in mind, especially during this time of year. We want coaches to be proactive in developing players to their potential both technically and tactically; that is way more important to the players than having a reactive coach, and trying to “paper over the cracks” in an attempt to win more tournament games at the younger age-groups.”

Cowell continued, “We are proud to have so many forward thinking and progressive coaches who are committed to our vision and the long term development of our players.”
