LA Galaxy San Diego players Madelyn Lauro, Marcos Lopez and Tobias Williams have been awarded the fantastic honor of being selected for the 2017 generation adidas program. Each year, the top adidas youth soccer clubs nationwide have the exclusive opportunity to nominate players and coaches to participate in the generation adidas international select program. Nationwide, a total of 96 talented players have been invited to train this August at Real Madrid Foundation, A.F.C. Ajax, and Olympique Lyonnais – three of the world’s most powerful soccer clubs.

LAGSD G01 Elite forward Madelyn Lauro, 15, was selected for one of the 32 spots for the generation adidas international Olympique Lyonnais Select 2002 Program where she will travel to Lyon, France to train with Olympique Lyonnais Academy coaches. Olympique Lyonnais’ multitude of trophies include 15 Division 1 Féminine titles, 9 Coupe de France Féminine titles, and 3 Women’s Champion’s League titles. In addition to being trained by Olympique Lyonnais academy coaches, Lauro will play in international friendly matches against Academy teams and receive individual evaluation from Olympique Lyonnais Academy coaches – an opportunity presented to very few American players.

From the program, Maddie looks forward to learning from different coaches and players about different techniques. She feels that this experience will help her soccer career in the long run by opening up her mind to learning about the game in many different perspectives. LAGSD B00 Elite defender Marcos Lopez, 17, was selected for one of the 32 spots for the generation adidas international Real Madrid Foundation Select 2000 Program where he will travel to Madrid, Spain to train with Real Madrid Foundation coaches. Real Madrid CF’s multitude of trophies include 33 La Liga titles, 19 Copa del Rey titles, and 12 Champion’s League titles. In addition to being trained by Real Madrid Foundation coaches, Marcos will play in international friendly matches against Academy teams and receive individual evaluation from Real Madrid Foundation coaches – an opportunity presented to very few American players.

Marcos strives to be the best player on the field every game and prides himself on the hard work he has put in to stand out from his teammates and opponents. LAGSD B02 Elite forward Tobias Williams, 14, was selected for one of the 32 spots for the generation adidas international A.F.C. Ajax Select 2002 Program where he will travel to Amsterdam, Netherlands to train with A.F.C. Ajax Academy coaches. A.F.C Ajax’s multitude of trophies include 33 Eredivisie titles, 18 KNVB Cup titles, and 4 Champion’s League titles. In addition to being trained by A.F.C. Ajax academy coaches, Williams will play in international friendly matches against Academy teams and receive individual evaluation from A.F.C. Ajax Academy coaches – an opportunity presented to very few American players.
