LA Galaxy San Diego older boys held their annual Elite Pre-Season Camp this past week. Coaches from eight excellent college programs were brought in to conduct training, assess the player pool, and provide important advice for the high school aged players in the club. Each day was a little different with the assorted coaches offering their unique training techniques and expert insight to the players.

LAGSD Boys College Liaison & CSUSM Head Coach, Ron Pulvers, commented, “It was a wonderful opportunity for the players to receive input from college coaches and experience training exercises that replicate what is done at the college level. The intensity of the sessions combined with four consecutive 2 ½ hour days gave the boys a small taste of what it might look like playing at the college level. The boys responded well to the different approaches and played with great concentration, work-ethic, and generally executed very well. The feedback from the coaches about the level of play was also very positive.”

The college programs represented were:
NCAA I Georgia State
NCAA I CSU Fullerton
NCAA I UC Riverside
NCAA I San Diego State
NCAA II CSU Dominguez Hills
NCAA II Embry Riddle (Daytona Beach, FL)
NCAA II Point Loma Nazarene
NCAA III Occidental College
