LA Galaxy San Diego kicked off our first league season under the LA Galaxy brand in style at Opening Day. This year’s competitive team booths were some of the most creative and fun we have ever had and the recreational raffle baskets were as festive as ever! The fun and excitement carried on into the evening with another cracking coaches game where the boys coaches prevailed 3-2 over the girls coaches. We also saw great support from local businesses including That Pizza Place, Rudy’s Taco Shop, Brett’s BBQ, Kona Ice, Jump N’ Ride, San Diego Hats, 2XU and Mindset Sports. If you missed the Mindset Sports booth at the event, contact Coach Corrie and Coach Pam at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
It was great to see so many of our members come out to support the club and celebrate the season, and the day was a great success thanks to the many parents and players who volunteered their time to work the event.
LAGSD Club President, Skye O’Grady, commented, “I want to thank everyone for coming to our first LA Galaxy San Diego Opening Day! It was truly a fantastic event for the community and a fun filled day for all involved, with an exciting coaches’ game bringing the day to a close. A sincere appreciation for all the effort from everyone to make this day a tremendous success – from the recreational coaches, to the generous baskets donated, to the countless volunteers and LAGSD board and staff – this doesn’t work without all of you! Best of luck to all of our teams in the upcoming season.”
LAGSD Club Manager, Natalie Eckerlin, also pitched in, “A huge THANK YOU goes out to all of the recreational teams who put together over 100 amazing raffle baskets, to all the competitive teams who helped make it such a fun day by running game booths, and to all of our board members, staff and teams who helped with set up, clean up, and worked throughout the day. Thanks for your willingness to lend a hand and for helping make Opening Day such a fun event for all!”
